Sen. Harry Reid told ProgressNow Nevada on Monday that he prefers any health care bill
that comes to the floor contains a public option.
"We can either have a vote to take it out or have a vote to put it in," Reid said. "It?s
better for me, for the public option, to have it in the bill and force someone to take it
out.
In a lengthy wide-ranging interview, Reid outlined his timeline for health care, energy
and Wall Street regulatory reform and discussed the escalation of violence in Afghanistan.
He also laughed off suggestions that a Democratic ticket led by Harry Reid and Rory Reid
would turn off voters concerned about political dynasty.
"As far as them talking about a dynasty, somebody should go to Searchlight and look at my
home," Reid said. "That?s ridiculous."
